One thing I know, for me anyway, that working from home was great for a while but after a year I had a serious motivation problem. As soon as I stepped out of the studio (3rd bedroom) the couch was there, clothes washing was there, my Tele was there and I just felt really isolated from the world. I acquired a studio (I'm post production) and go in everyday and that really brought me out.

I know your situation is different with your wife, kid and business there, but those things compounded by winter can get you down. Moving to the countryside may be a good change but you may be back in the same boat in 6 months. Every thought about sharing office space with someone? Getting out of the house and going to work may break it up.

Hang in there!
