Sounds like the speakers and amp

As in any set up, moving the speakers around in small increments is key.

All around the room is even and nice. The frequency balance at the sofa is especially good, so that's good luck. The exact middle of the room, just behind me, is the only weak spot.

The low end behind the speakers, in front of the Mega Traps, is nearly non existent. It's bizarre. Those things work very well, for sure. There are no low end messes anywhere along the walls or corners.
Excellent! I should have a couple of new customers for you in the relatively near future.

I'll never forget the day I discovered just how poorly my original attempts at bass trapping were working. I sent pink noise through my monitors at 75 dB SPL measured at my mix position, then played a 75 Hz sine wave and began measuring at different spots. It measured 58 dB where my ears normally are, and just a few feet away, just behind and above midway between the speakers, it measured nearly 100 dB!

It's better now, but it took a rather prodigious amount of bass trapping.
