I agree with everyone else. It's because it's all straight midi! I have a friend that does nothing but midi and he has songs that sound like they are kind of dead and sterile. reamping, adding real instruments, reverb, eq,gating effects all that good stuff would help as stated above. on some of my midi synths i'll add tape saturation plugs like the psp one and it helps give my synths a boost, followed with some eq.
