You should also change the fuse to about 1/2 the size that was installed on the 120V unit.

It should be something like 24V-35V AC on the secondaries outputs if working correctly.

If the transformer gets hot... something is wrong.

Before you close the lid let her sit for a while and check the voltages to make sure she is in good operation.
