Believe it or not, these were VERY expensive XLR connectors, and are as good as new, except for the bushing. These came out in the 80's or 90's, I think they were called neutrik "Black Maxx" or something like that. All black with gold contacts. But most of the parts are common to the traditional neutrik connectors.
And they did not break from normal wear and tear, they broke because they were cinched down onto tiny 22AWG cables. Its not a problem to "re-terminate the cable", its my job, I'm a studio tech. Do people really throw away perfectly good XLR connectors just because they have to fix a cable? I need to get out of the studio more.
And the bushings were only recently discontinued.
