I'm usually at 256 samples. Sometimes 128 if I have just a few tracks. And I agree that some would find playing dry a little dry. I don't do a lot of high gain or metal stuff. Mostly bluesy and crunchy. My T5 Koa has such a sweet natural sound, that it really doesn't throw me off at all.
