Whilst your profession means I will trust you on that at theoretical level, in our studio we have an effective airlock between the studio doors but we noticed a drop in the levels of top end (particularly cymbals) when absorbers were placed on the live room side of the door.

As I said about 10 times across the course of my posts, the best way for everything is to try it and find out! Some of the best things you ever do in music will happen because you said 'I wonder what would happen if....' and it sounded great!
