DC | Haha. That was the first thing I checked. I changed both cables, same problem. I'm positive it was the unit. Usually with bad cables, the difference hasn't been more than 1 or 2dB in my experience.

Also, when I tried bringing up the left output to match the right, I heard a buzzing sound. If that didn't happen, I wouldn't have had a problem with keeping it.
