We couldn't get the 4050 to sound like the V67G without ALOT of tweaking and wonking about. Matt and I discussed that shootout all the way back to his crib. I think that seeing as how we only had 3 days to really go through those microphones, we need to do more recording with them. Plus the V67G mod has 3 versions. Story only heard the vintage version (darkest) and we never got a chance to fire up the medium version and we didn't have the original brightest mod. The 2001 mod to my ears sounds more like a U87AI on roids. The V67G vintage mod has more of a richer sound to it and takes EQ very very very well. The other two versions are subsequently brighter and need less eq to cut through a mix.

Hi L,
Just as soon as the weather breaks and we get "the all clear signal" from the gods of all things spring, I will assemble all of my r&b/pop peeps, musos, singers, for another marathon weekend extravaganza featuring the awesome JJ AudioMikes.
I am REALLY fooking forward to it!
So Jim,"Illacov" and the gang, look forward to some more cheese steaks!!
BTW..why did Tony B.move this thread?
We are talking about GEAR on Gearslutz and not some idiotic thread about how use an mpc for hip hop.
