thanks for the replies thus far.

triple or dual rec is the obvious choice.. pertucci, and most of my other idols have used them at one time or another and they have certainly become the image of "metal" ...

i dont play arenas though - and really a smoky pool hall is the likely place my band will be gigging.

with that said, i have wondered if something like the mesa pre along with a 2:50 or 50/50 or possibly even a 20/20 might work for me.

I currently have a Genz Benz GFLEX 2x12 - but will likely upgrade that to a 4x12 simply to have something that rolls and also breathes a little more.

The 50 watt VHT (or whatever they are called now) has been another thought - still with the mesa pre in front of it..

Further comments on what I've said would be appreciated.. would I be hurting myself by getting the 20/20?
