Uhh... another vote for a used 57 and something else less boxy/middly just for mic cabinet diversity.
Personally I'm NOT a fan of the 57 on gnarly amps especially with Celestion Vintage 30s, and I really don't dig the "wooliness" I consistently hear on vocals, even through good mic pres. But at the same time that's a lot to do with proximity effect probably.
PS (loosely) what genre of music are you creating?
