better converters aren't going to blow you away if you don't like the 192 converters....anyway, you already seem to like analog gear and funky old digital samplers and such. tape machines are cheaper than ever and all the new digital stuff will give you no additional coloring if thats what you're looking for. crane song phoenix is the only plugin i might recommend if you're trying to fatten up protools.
