As someone who recently fulfilled a decade-plus long dream of picking up a hammer-weighted 88 I can well appreciate there are a number of considerations -- not the least of which is size. (Hey, this damn takes up almost as much floorspace as a freakin' piano! I could practically move my upright up from the garage... and then haul it right back down after they tar and feather me in my tightly packed neighborhood.)
But, anyhow, if you end up going with an 88 key after all, I have to say that I'm very happy with my CME UF8. For $550 I just can't imagine a better deal. I kept looking at Fatars in GC and MF catalogs but friends waved me away from them... and they were always quite a bit more, besides.
Now all I need is a really nice v. piano... cracks me up to think of spending almost as much as this very 3-D, physical heavy, big object for a handful of DVD disks. (I know, I know, I make my money by writing software, no one needs explain it to me, really. But just wait 'til they start making sample libraries in the People's Republic of China... yeah! Too bad it'll be a while after they've locked up database and web dev... [sigh] )
