It seems pretty clear to me. It's saying that you can hook up multiple devices to your DAW, should your DAW allow for it, to get more channels. What's unclear about that? It says nothing about being able to link two devices together. They may have thought about adding this as a feature, and when you called and asked about it, they told you it was on the back-burner. But this feature is not something they are advertising.
