I also kind of agree with this too, except actually I think alot of new sh*t is solely DAW based... which is why it blows. If your DAW based I think your less likely to come outside the box to process your sounds and give them that extra punch via outboard gear. Also I think I need to clarify something...
I only advocate MPC's for drum programming and sample chopping. Everything else should be left to a DAW and although combining the two can be time consuming you can reap the rewards. But hey, different courses for different horses
