Line 6 Pod Farm info needed.

Hey. Im currently recording electric guitar into my PC with Cubase 3. I've been advised on the Line 6 Pod farm and understand you need an iLok too. Do I simply buy the two items and run it as normal? Or is there anything specific I need to know. Any advice or feedback welcomed as Im new to this.
