The 428 will probably allow you to record up to 4 tracks at once, but it only has 2 mic pre-amps, and I'm not sure of the quality there. The thing that is getting to us right now is that it is USB 1.1. There is no option to upgrade it to USB 2.0, and right now the latency is driving my wife crazy. We have the latency/buffers set as low as they can go, but it is still giving her an almost slap-back echo if she monitors her vocals in her headphones while she's recording. I get the same delay when I record guitar and bass, but have learned to live with it.
