Yep Rob, that's such a commonplace thing - although each concert or live event is obviously unique, what happens all too often is that the artist ends up with a 'cosmetically perfect' recording that has had much of the guts, sweat, 'warts, blemishes, fluffs etc removed or watered down in the post production process.
It's a bit like the flip side of 'I preferred the demo' syndrome
