Neat little box but depending on your needs using the money towards starting a little euro modular might be a better use of money. You'll get a lot more ins and outs and functionality that way. Keep in mind this is a very basic synth on its own @$625

For a little bit more ($799) you can get a MFB Kraftzwerg (also euro style) that gives you a lot more possbilities, roughly the same functionality as a Moog Mini in modular format. 3 Osc, moog style filter, 2 LFOs, noise, ring modulator, 2 ADSRs... That's a shitload of power for the price. I'm using the MFB Synth II which is basically the same thing except not modular but with built in sequencer and patch saving. It's a very nice synth for the money, sounds lovely.

For the same functionality as the MFB you would have to buy 2 dark energy's and a couple additional modules...

Worth mentioning are the rumors that doepfer are also working on a matching, simple sequencer and possibly an expander.

EDIT: I should mention that while I havent had problems with my MFB Synth II, some people have mentioned issues with MFB stuff so the quality control might not be all that...
