Who has M-Audio Lightbridge working with M-Powered?

More specifically on a Mac laptop (with one firewire port)? Anyone? Not running a USB hard drive either, with a firewire hard drive.

I have tried various setups, different interfaces, using a firewire hub, and using a USB hard drive with just the Lightbridge going through the firewire port. I have tried switching the clock to internal, external via BNC, via ADAT—at different sample rates. I can get it lock with most of these other interfaces, but when I start to record there is the occasional soft click in the actual audio.

Computer setup:
OS 10.5.8
MacBook (5,2)
2GHz Core 2 Duo with 4GB of ram
M-Powered 8.0.1
M-Audio FireWire 1.4 (driver 1.9, build 01.09.003)

Main setup:
Metric Halo 2882 Expanded with 2D Card
Mio-Console 5.2.00.153
Connected to the Lightbridge via ADAT lightpipe

I have also tried:
Focusrite Octopre
MOTU 828 MKII
[with MOTU audio setup - version 1.4.12 with driver 1.4.23]

I was hoping to use it for a session with Apogee Rosetta 800's next week. Anyone have success with that setup?

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated, especially if you have got it working—please detail your setup. Although, I am thinking it just will not ever work with a MacBook because of the firewire port sharing issue. Maybe a MacBook Pro using an Firewire 2 Port ExpressCard (has anyone actually done that successfully or with a Firewire Hub that explicitly says it uses the TI chipset?).

Thank you all for your time.
