You're going to want to have it on a aux/send. Running an entire mix into it is probably not the best way to go about making music, y'know? It's not impossible for it to work, but unlikely.

Actually it's not uncommon to run something like a Hall setting on the entire mix of a sample based orchestra to place the whole orchestra in a space and use short delays or early reflections on individual tracks to position and spread various instruments and sections in the stereo field.
