Pacifica into a SM7B is old school heaven (if you sing in the vein of Stevie Wonder or MJ, this is THE combo).
But, the Pacifica into a Rode Classic II is our default vocal combo in our studio. It's hard to sound bad - great talent really takes it to another level though. It's a wonderful pairing that seems to nail pretty much anything that passes through it. I'd recommend checking it out without any hesitation - especially considering the needs of your original post.
I'd steer clear of a U87 personally - while a great mic, it's a pretty boring option to my tastes. The new ones just don't overflow with the magic you'd expect of them, and there's too many quality mic options out there to keep falling back on the generic U87 sound used and abused for the last 40 years. Go something a little more adventurous.
