The input on the Mopho can make some amazing sounds, especially with the audio mod setup as you can get bitcrushing type effects out of it. I loved it, although in the end the Mopho didn't quite cut it for me, the Evolver kinda spoils it.
The Sherman is a much more flexible multimode filter, I don't think they can really be compared with any real seriousness. If you want a very colorful, aggro sounding filter effect, it will give you that. It's actually a lot harder to get more subtle filtering with it than extreme stuff, imo. The Mopho can do this to an extent but I think discrete vs. curtis chip has a lot to do with them sounding way different.
