Early on when I started my home studio a decent pair of headphones was "loaned" to a band to practice the click tracks we just recorded.

1)Never came back to record.
2)Never paid(the last time I trusted anyone on payment).
3)Never brought back my headphones.

Plus, after I received their dear john letter in an email I replied to them asking: "hey guys, the least you guys could do is drop off my headphones, they're not the cheap kind, they're actually kinda expensive"

they said "The least we could do? We wasted our money driving out to your studio (because they found a studio that would record their songs at $12/per song??) so we really don't owe anything to you, if you want your headphones back you can come out and get the headphones from us. (1-1/2 hour drive).

I love people.
Uhm, did you call the cops? I would of called the cops. You have plenty of grounds for a theft case.
