Talking Mid Side for extra channels!

I had a session today where I only had 8 inputs on an interface, and a twelve mic setup. I was in a room that was extremely reflective, with all over the place bass. I realized for the drums I could set the OHs tight enough that I wouldn't need spots on the snare or toms. I submixed the kick into both OH channels. Now in the mix, I can use m-s encoding and decoding to mix the kick separately from the OHs. 3 channels for the price of 2. Just wanted to share this because I thought it was pretty crafty.
