I like the old black Valley Dynamite. I kinda like all the Valley stuff really.
Just make sure it's in good working order---recapped and all. The old black ones and gain brains etc., can sound pretty nasty when the caps are old.

long overdue for a re-cap. Ever notice the newer ones with the pinkish / purple lettering sound pretty clean compared to the older ones? Not just the design at work here.
Once recapped though, they work like intended, and many, many records used these to great effect back in the day. Big bang for the buck.
Blows stuff up, like the name might suggest. In a way nothing else really does. Easily recognizable sound, for me anyways. We have heard it most of our lives on a lotta material.
Surprised these aren't talked about more for this purpose...I guess maybe not "slutty" enough?
I'll continue on though, making lowend music with my low end Valleys...
