Like many here the r24 would suit my needs for grouping a few analogue channels and parallels as well as having more channels and solo.

Very excited about this product as it could well end my wait for a full track count desk (on a mackie onyx fw with interface for outs at moment) with the features/options id like but it would need solo in place. I have resisted all those old decent desks floating around in the hope something like this would come along.

cheers Peter
Pete, I was reading your post on the A&H firewire series boards, some of the limitations, I'm pretty sure i'm going with the Onyx 1640i (Tracking small bands) rather than the r16. I plan to "line in" half a dozen SCA pres with the Onyx also. You're using an Onyx? What do you think? I'm asking around a little before buying. I have pretty good rooms, Good Mics, HS80's. Nickthesax has some pretty good recordings, he's using a apogee ensemble and It sounds "Album Quality" to me. So, all other variables aside, you think this 1640i is capable of producing similar results or is it not in the same league as ensemble. My other direction was a Lynx Aurora 16 , with SCA pre's. But then I have no board to mix down the old way. . . and, Its alot more money, Lol !!! Thanks Much Pete
