Sorry to hear that Zen isn't right for you.
The banking around is not provided on the console as it is not a control surface. This prevents you from inadvertently shifting the automation data from one channel to another.
The manual provides details of ways that this can be set up within projects, to not get in the way of your work flow. It doesn't have to be setup as your first 16 faders, but a quick means of banking does not really make sense on Zen.
