| To my mind the 184 lacks body (or should I say the body it DOES have feels like its one out of a ported speaker, rather than 'real') and has too much weird tangy sparkle. You can work around that to some extent with positioning, and you do get a little 'neumann-ness' thrown in the sound, but not my cup of tea.
Get yourself an RFT DM622 old east german omni dynamic off german ebay for peanuts. MUCH nicer acoustic sound!!! Or see if sahiaman will still build you a little blondie.
