Notwithstanding the fact that LED screens are in fact LCD screens that use diodes for backlighting....
CCFL backlit LCD's are still very nice... LED backlit LCDs tend to be a little nicer when it comes to color contrast... LED backlit screens are newer so you'll pay a premium....
The do make actual LED screens but unless you're Jerry Jones
(Dallas Cowboys owner who put an LED screen in the new stadium that consists of over 10 million LED lights) you're probably not looking into that
Samsung is my personal favorite for LCD but Mr Cheese loves Acer citing it is a better value.... Same has been said for Asus monitors...
just remember... anything over 19" and you'll wanna use 1920X1080 or 1920x1200 resolutions and anything over 30" and you'll wanna use 2560x1600
