I bought 2 XLR/XLR patchbays from ebay to have better access to the mic inputs of a TOFT ATB24.

I set maximum gain on my API3124. Plugging the mic input cable to the patchbay gives > 2dB more noise compared to the unplugged situation.

Can Patchbays be that noisy? Is there a way to improve the setup?
