I have used them extensively on vocals, but not on acoustic guitar. With vocals they are very easy to use and have always been in my vocal chain since the first day of use. They sound great, in extreme settings and just a light pinch.... I haven't had the pleasure of trying a Vac Rac, but they can hold their own against most any optical piece I've used on vocals. The make-up gain is super cool and clean, might even add something to the tone that I like. So yes, I like it vocals... if you have any specific questions I would be happy to answer them.
