Drum Machine Advice

Hi all I'm looking for some help. I'm after a new drum machine that captures the sounds of the old classics such as Rythm aces and mini-pops etc that have a "fluffy" sound or gives me the ability of using samples as well as creating my own new "cleaner" more modern sounds. I have been building my drum patterns using single drum hits in Sonar but am looking to get away from the computer a bit more with a device that will allow me to sequence and program drums aswell as sample, so that then I can then bring back the results to my desk and mix easily. I've about £1400 to spend and whilst I'd like to buy half a dozen old machines I can't justify the cost as I need a machine thats more than a "one trick pony" .Anyway I have been looking at the Jomox 888 and the Elektron MD uw but am concerned neither is suitable, the MD being to cold and the JoMox just being an 808 clone (can it do more?) Thanks in advance and apologies for the ramble and spelling.

P.S. I have seen other threads on here discussing the same machines but I could not find an answer that fitted my questions so apologies if this seems like a lazy bit of posting and my questions have been answered.
