Hey there...

my PC, mixer, monitors....none of these project any kind of HUM sound.

but when i plug in my MIC and turn on the phantom...there is a bassy HUM that does not allow me to use high gains. Its there even with the phantom OFF. Seems like it kicks in as soon i plug in the XLR to the port.

My effects pedal connected to other channel does not create HUM so iam sure my mixer is fine.

unfortunately i dont have an extra mic or cable to step troubleshoot this.

but just wanted to know...is this a generally experienced problem ???
whose the culprit ?? the MIC or the XLR cable ????
