| The Trident plate was pretty unique and not typical of the classic plate sound IMHO, it was way darker. I think that it must have been quite out of tune, but in a really magical way. The only way I could get my EMT to sound similar was to reduce the tension substantially, and then put pieces of foam on the edges to bring the high end decay time down relative to the low end decay. I know it sounds crazy because everybody else is trying to make their plates as tight an as evenly tensioned as possible for a bright sound. All this to say, neither the UAD 140 or any altiverb EMT 140 impulses that I've come across sound like the trident plate.
