you need to know your mixer, in cubase you can set up your inputs and ouputs based on your sound card and name them however you want
on my N12 i have
input 1 - mono input - pendulum audio quartet - this is my quarter inserted into the channel 1 on the n12 and its named QUARTET
input 2 - LA 610 mono input and named LA610
input 3 - sebatron thorax - mono input - name THORAX
input 3/4 - stereo input - ELEVEN rack from digi - named ELEVEN
input 4/5 - stereo input - BOSS GT-10 - named GT-10
input 9/10 - Triton pro - stereo input - TRITON
input 11/12 - Fractal AXE - stereo input - FRACTAL
i have a set of event asp8's of CR A, an set of JBL LSR25p's of CR B
i feed my ST out to a headphone amp
etc
so just set up how may mono or stereo inputs you want, based on the mixer you have and name them accordingly
then in cubase you can do a new project and you will see them when you select your inputs for a track
you need to learn cubase input and output, VST connections and setting them up based on the n8 or n12 ins and outs
