| I've been using the 57 for some time (years) and after I got a couple of 201's I've never used anything else on snare. For me the 201 is the perfect snare mic and it's a great mic on a number of other applications, even on kick.

So stop worrying about the little things, there is no perfect system. But tape still sounds better.
