Yeah, it makes me feel like a ****tard to say I listen to "anything", but the fact is, I do- I find as an audio engineer, a player of various instruments and a songwriter that it's pretty important to listen to anything and everything I can.

I don't care if it's even good, sometimes, I feel I can't afford to not listen to something that's either 1) popular for some reason, 2) something I might be lucky enough to be paid to work on or 3) a style I might be asked to emulate for some reason.

But I hate it when I am asked "What kind of music do you like?" Well, what kind of music do you like? Really? Just that one style? Out of all the thousands of years of music made in all the cultures that even existed, you shrewdly picked one- the best, I guess- and you're sticking to that?

I just like music. When I'm asked that, I just mention what I've been listening to lately, which has been the O'Jays and the Five Stairsteps, because I was drinking and I watched an infomercial about the boxed set of classic R&B- which I really love- and featured a lot of performances from Soul Train.
