But I certainly
wasn't on my game when I addressed the VCO issue... I was thinking voltage not frequency of AC (don't ask me why, I certainly know what a VCO is)... that said, I'd be sort of surprised if there weren't other issues arising from reducing the frequency of the AC from 60 Hz to 30 Hz in order to slow the hysteresis synchronous motors to half speed. You can get away with a little, but I suspect at some point you are going to have ramifications. That said, I'll leave it to others to figure out what they might be.
