My LA-610 gets a little scratchy on the output as well as the big preamp gain knob sometimes. A bit of exercise seems to take care of the problem on the short-term, but it comes back after a week or so.
My situation is pretty minor though. If it gets worse i would consider replacing the potentiometer myself, as i am over the one-year warranty period.
Dean, I never use my LA-610 to clean my pot. I have an old frisbee and a pair of pruning scissors for that.
