I don't own the Control, but I've spent some time finding my way around one. It didn't seem that the touch screen was that useful. Not because it can't perform useful tasks, but just because it doesn't seem like it can perform them in a work flow-improving manner. Most of the time, it would just be faster to grab the mouse and use that instead (IMO and from my experience). Perhaps I was just a victim of a learning curve, but whenever I'm able to get my MC setup, I'll probably skip the Control, or at least buy it with the plan of returning it unless it dazzles me.

I know what I'm about to say is a sin, but Guitar Center normally has MC Controls and Mixes in stock to mess with if you have the time. Unfortunately, they normally have Cheeto crums and broken knobs from the idiots that walk around breaking gear and poking in tweeter domes. But it might be worth a peek if you live near one.
