here are some takes messing around with the compressor. i did a take dry with no comp or limiter on, a take with the comp at 6:1 and the limiter on, and a "smashed" take with the comp set to inf:1 and limiter on. finally, just out of morbid curiousity i did a take with the sm7b with comp 6:1 and limiter on. i left a lot of roomtone and noise at the front so you can hear what the self noise of the mic is with this pre.
