I've got the home recording bug, and thought I might enjoy trying to record others. I'd principally be interested in recording acoustic musicians and/or solo singer-songwriters. I'm a 38 yr. old attorney with a wife, and kid and one on the way. Can anyone recommend a course/workshop (no more than a week long), that would give me some basic understanding of room acoustics, mic placement, tracking to tape, tracking to digital, eq, reverb and compression. I know a little from working on my own recordings, but I like to learn more.
