I visited a studio recently which had monitors diagonal. Very weird smeared and disturbing imaging. I presume there is some sort of focussed bounce coming from behind. You would try putting absorbent panels behind, use the mirror trick. However I think it would be best to go for a more normal placement which we know how to make work.
