I had the same issue, having trouble reading small stuff on the screen.

I now have a pair of 19" NEC monitors mounted on long arms clamped behind my console. I can pull them as far forward as I want, right up to my face. That helped me a lot.

I'm now working to add a third monitor out of the way for plug ins.

When I mentioned this issue to my Optometrist at my last checkup, he prescribed bifocal computer glasses that are set up for middle distance (monitors) on the top and reading on the bottom.

Now I alternate with the glasses and pulling the monitors up close.

Getting old sucks !
