I totally agree that the song in question is uninteresting. But this is gearslutz and sound production and the individual samples of songs should be discussed...

Yeah, agree that the kick has something of that Corona sound. That particular sound, which sounds somewhat like an 808 kick, is created on a synth using full rez with almost closed filter, and with the appropriate settings for ADSR. Not all analog synths are great at creating that particular sound, not my Nordlead for example, but old Roland SH series synths can make them, or certainly a Pro1. There are loads of samples around. Search!
But in the mix of "Boom boom" it might very possibly be layered with other sounds too.
