The Marshian herd likes to run lean and fast - misfits and stragglers are hamstrung and left for the dingoes. The herd here is larger, slower and alot more diverse. Thinning of the herd happens through more of a natural selection process with the weaker falling by the wayside.
Remember those Mutual of Ohmaha wildlife shows with the young gazelle learning how to run and jump, but mostly just spazzing up and down in the same spot? Didn't it make you chuckle?
