I've got two (one with the effects daughterboard) and really liked them until I had to leave 98SE and OS9.
I was only tangentially involved with that (I wrote the 'verbs for the Core). That was one of the most painful experiences we ever had. The Windows O/S was pretty primitive in those days (remember setting the DMA channel and the interrupt) and it seems that every combination of motherboard, video card, MIDI card, etc, came with its own set of incompatibilities. Our system guys/driver guys for that product took systems home with them every night and weekend, trying to fix problems with particular configurations. It was an absolute nightmare within the company and there was damaged health and family life for a long time. One of the firmware engineers worked so hard that that he ignored important health warnings and died from a brain tumor within a year. There are a number of people who'll never forgive Lexicon for that product line, but believe me there was far more pain on the inside.
