Here in Boston we are pretty fortunate in having Parsons Audio, Pro Audio Design, and of course, Mercenary all right in our back yard. All three will usually do their best (assuming they carry the line) to get you a loaner to try out in real world situations before you decide to buy - often even lending out a couple of comparable alternatives so you can A-B(and C) them directly and make an informed decision based on hands-on experience.
