I believe the r24 will have both adat and fw. There's no sense to leave the adat away if the fw is there because adat itself does not add almost anything to the cost. The fw and the drivers are more expensive to do. If the R24 will use fw, it will be on the limit of the fw bus anyway. I don't know any other product in the market that will use as many fw channels at the same time. Even TC Electronic do not use so many fw channels with the Dice in their products. If I end up purchasing the R24, I will use it with RME Raydat (4x adat, spdif, aes/ebu and midi i/o). It will provide far better latency, cpu usage and stability than any product using firewire. If the fw connection ends up being not stable enough with so many streams, just keep the adat and the product will still sell very well.
